COMPOS MENTIS Parts Ways With Bassist, Announces Replacement

August 31, 2007

Danish death metal band COMPOS MENTIS — whose second album, "Gehennesis", was released in March via Mighty Music — has issued the following update:

"Recently we parted ways with our bassist through more than ten years, Dan Damgaard, due to the fact that we had different priorities in the band as regards the necessary dedication to COMPOS MENTIS. It was a hard decision to make as we have known each other for such a long time but Dan's passion for this particular type of music had faded and with it also his engagement in the band and therefore it had to be this way. We will still remain friends nonetheless and we would like to thank Dan for all the good times in the band as well as wishing him the best of luck with whatever musical projects he might undertake in the future! However, we have already found the perfect substitute in Claus Tørnes (MARE CRISIUM),who is an old friend of the band as well. He is a great bass player and is more than ready to kick some ass at the forthcoming concerts so you should look forward to seeing him, just as we are looking very much forward to get out there and play the new songs from 'Gehennesis' live with him!"

In other news, COMPOS MENTIS will support DARK TRANQUILLITY and SONIC SYNDICATE on the Danish leg of their tour: September 9 at Voxhall in Aarhus and September 10 at The Rock in Copenhagen.

Commented COMPOS MENTIS: "Several of us have followed DARK TRANQUILLITY ever since we began listening to metal a great many years ago so it is of course an honor for us to be able to play with these guys!"
